Target Area: Central Region

Overall Goal: GHG Emission Reduction Activities from Agriculture & Forestry are promoted in Cameroon
Cameroon submitted its "Nationally Determined Intended Contribution" (INDC) at the 21st Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP21) held in December 2015 in Paris.
With regard to REDD+, Cameroon committed to putting in place an institutional framework with the support of the World Bank's FCPF in its preparation phase.
In addition, in June 2018, Cameroon developed and published its National REDD + Strategy (NRS) with the support of bilateral and multilateral partners.
Currently, Cameroon is promoting activities to implement its NRS and to achieve its Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) which is a step higher in the process.
The purpose of our project is to build capacity to contribute to the implementation of Cameroon’ s NRS and to the fulfillment of the commitments that are included in its NDC.
